Bio

I'm an engineering consultant based in Helsinki. I have 23 years of experience developing mission-critical, software-intensive technology and building teams in deep-tech organizations, with 15 of those years spent in the space industry (the last decade in startups).
I have published a book titled NewSpace Systems Engineering (Springer, 2021) which tackles the challenges of creating complex products in the context of small enterprises. I have also independently published a free ebook in Spanish called La Ciencia Dura (The Hard Science) about the beauties of studying engineering and designing complex systems. In 2023, I published Space Technology: A Short Introduction through Springer. I am currently working on my third book, to be published in 2026.

I am an Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) as certified by INCOSE.

I am a Doctoral Researcher at Aalto University, working on in-field defect diagnostics in chiplet interconnects using multimodal machine learning methods.

My interests: Mission-Critical Systems Engineering, Design, Semiconductors, 3D-IC, Startups.

I write about management (or the lack thereof), technology, space, and human behavior. Articles in English and Spanish.

Consulting

I have learned some lessons the hard way in the domains of Systems Engineering, Space Systems, Avionics, Flight Software, Embedded Systems and Simulation. Also on tech writing, tech management, "skunkworks" engineering and product management. If you consider this can be useful for your organization, feel free to reach out.
